Well I just about got the new 1.75 Jesel rockers on the motor with the new .145 wall pushrods, thanks Mike! The trans was just freshened up and new valve body installed by Trans Specialties. And I just talked to my friend tonight, so at the end of January the car will be getting the rack and pinion steering, motor plates, and new cage bars. I'm hoping that next year between a stiffer front half of the chassis and the rocker changes to get the car into the 9.20's with 1.26 60' times. Time will tell, just as long as it doesn't slow down I'll be ok:D

Ray, I was thinking about taking my tranny to Trans Specialties also for a refresh. Have a spare T400 core here, may be worth it to drop it off.

They charge $350 for a rebuild if no hard parts are damaged.

Right now the car weighs 3150 with me in it. Hoping between lightening the car with the rack and cutting out the original crossmember, that it will balance the weight by adding "x" bars to the doors and strut bars to the front half. These bars will be chromoly so the weight will be lower, but I'm also adding a second optima red top battery to help crank the motor. So I hope to still be at 3150 when done, but I would be happier if it was less.

John the pushrods are .145 wall Manton pushrods. The rockers are 1.75 Jesel Sportsman series rockers are Intake and Exhuast. I think with my "baby" cam it will make it .770 lift on both sides.

Ray, That is pretty sound planning with one exception, the batteries. Go get yourelf two small Hawker Odyssey's or one of the new Odyssey 1800's. The Optima's are now being produced overseas. Go to http://www.svapowerproducts.com and click on FAQ, then click on dual batteries. There is also lots of electrical information from a man named "Ray" over on the Yellow Bullet forum, electrical section, who owns SVA. He races a motorcycle that is electrically powered. By the way the Hawker's are much lighter and have lots of reserve power.

Ok Harold I'll look into them. I just figured I'd go with the Optima's since I've had an Optima in the car for probably 7 years now. They can't just leave things alone can they. I wanted to go with 2 batteries to have the cranking capacity for the locked out timing. I have the start retard, but it's like you get that one shot to fire it and then it starts coughing and kicking back on the starter.
