I picked up a set of 3795896 60cc 327 heads. Would it be a bad idea to bolt these onto a stock 350 w dished pistons? The engine runs fine on 76cc 882's, but I want to bump the compression up. I did a search and came up w/nothing. thanks

What you got is a set of heads that have 1.72 intake valves it would bump your compression up. But i would go and get 1.94 valves installed in them and do a bowl blend. But if you don't they make great TQ heads that quit pulling after 4500 RPM. Hope this helps you out some.

I remember seeing a buddy that was going to College put 1.72 valve heads on a 350. It lost a lot of power and sounded like a sewing machine.

If I was to do this, I would get a set of -601, 305HO heads b/c they are chambered like double hump heads and have 58 cc chambers along with 1.84"/1.50" valves.. You can also use the -416 heads but they have more of a smog chamber vs the hi-po bathtub shaped one..
Just put an 1/8" chamfer around the chamber to break the sharp edge!!
This is an old roundy-round motor builders trick..

thanks for the replys guys. I'll stay away from these heads.
Pdq67 will swaping to the 305 ho heads give me more power?

Should b/c the 1.72" valved heads are very small and were only ran on the base 327's, (and 265's and 283's where they run great!)..
Plus I would add a good old CC 268HE or a Crane 272/272 Energizer, a decent intake setup and a set of cheap 1.625" four tube long headers and you will be be good to go with a mild street motor..
JMHO, tho... pdq67

Pdq67 I meant in comparison to the 1.94/1.50 882's i have on there now. In your opinion, would I benefit from a swap to the 305 heads? thanks for the help
