Ok, so I let my original brackets and p/s pump walk off from my 1969 Chevelle SS and I need to replace them. Not so much”WIW” but how much is it going to cost me? 1) 1969 396 power steering pump, 2) All three of the power steering brackets, 3) All five of the 1969 396 air conditioning brackets? I have one person quoting me $1,200 for all the items listed. WOW! Or Ouch! Anyway what should I be paying for OEM parts? Mind you these are originals and not reproduction items.

Try www.oldmusclecars.com. They have genuine GM parts that are reasonable and they fit.

for 1200 bucks I'd buy the march serp belt kit..
and save 500. bucks

I assume you're doing a restoration? If not, then I'd definitely go aftermarket.

All the parts you requested are 1yr only items, and only available on the BBC cars. It doesn't mean they were ever rare, but after 40yrs ... most have been trashed, and very seldom see an original one.

So ... if you're into a 1 stop shop, yeah I guess I could see someone wanting $1200 for a collection of parts you're very seldom to find in any 1 place. Give a few years of searching ads, friends, etc ... realistically, I think the pump and brackets could go for $300 rebuilt, and the same for the a/c brackets.

I would say $1200 is kinda steep, but they are getting very hard to find now.
Last set I sold ac brackets went for $600 but they were a dated set.
And as for PS brackets they are alot harder to find for a 69 I was in the same boat as you I thought I lost my originals and was about to buy a set and then I finally found my originals.

By an odd chance I located and bought the three power steering pump brackets. So now I'm down to needing the pump and the A/C brkts. I'll watch the classifieds for a few weeks before jumping.

I have a new ps pump and a set of AC brackets that I am going to ebay soon.
