I have a TKO600 that i bought to use for my 72 chevelle but I want to use the tranny in a 64 Elco now. What is the difference between in trannies between the two years? Will I be able to use it without major modification?

Should be the same modifications that would be required in either car.

Good to know. I didn't know if the shifter position was wrong.

Thanks!

Well that is true. I am not sure about the location of the shifter if you are running a console in that year. When you said mods, I didnt think of that as one. Someone else may be able to chime in here. Are you running a console?

you can call Jeff or Scott from Classicchevy5speed.com and ask them what you need to do to the shifter location, they know every way the shifter can be used on the tremec
