Haven't been able to get in touch with Harold and haven't seen him post since he got back from PRI. I am wondering what my RPM for shift points should be with this cam SR .650 243 & 249 @ .050 112 LSA the rest of the combo is in sig. TIA Mike

I would think less than 6,500. My 248/254 cam like to be shifted at 6,300-6,500. My 254/260 cam likes to be shifted at 6,600-6,800. Both were in a .030" 454 (460).

Just from intuition I have the shift light set at 6,200 but I never asked. Thanks Ken

Your netting out around 238 on the intake side. I would say it's on the downside of the power curve by 6000. Just curious, what idle vaccum / rpm do you have?

With my reworked 750 3310. idles at 850 to 900 and vac is 5.5 to 6 in I'm wondering if my new pro system dp will change that.I did finely get through to Harold today he estimates my peak hp to be about 6,200 and recommended about 6,800 I'll have to play with it and see but I have a ball park thanks for the responses.

Mike, your idle vac does seem really low. What's your timing look like? Are you running vac advance?

Mike you should try manifold vac, my cam idles like @ss without that extra ~14* of vacuum. I too run 16/36, although I do suspect it may want 38*.

With my 750 I ran out of manifold vac sources with the PCV power brakes and the cowl flapper but the new throttle plate has a 2nd vac port in the front so I can use that. I just got the new carb out of the box and pro systems is closed for the day what does the 950 HP body flow all of the specs where left up to Patrick?

We are closed till the end of Jan or early Feb.I'm making so many changes I don't know what to expect. New fuel system 1/2" line tank to carb new tires 11.5x 28 ET streets on 10" rims Koni single adjustable shocks and the new pro systems 950 hp carb. The shocks will start out loose in the front and med setting in the back unless I can get other suggestions.
