I am needing help with selecting fuel filters . Ive read a few post here and other sites thru google and need to know what i need . Iam running braided 8an line , a summit fuel cell (which has 8an out ) , holley blue pump and regulator ( both are 3/8 npt in/out ) .

Most of the companys dealing with pumps and filters say to run a filter before the pump ( 100 microns ) then one before the carb. But i've also seen in pictures on this site is a few fram filters and malllory comp 140 , system 1 in the back before the fuel pump . The fram i read is a no-no ( don't flow well) but Mallory says to use thier 140 before the fuel pump .

The fram is 10 microns and the mallory is 40 . Is the 100 microns what i need ? I was looking at aeromotive but didn't see a 100 micron with 8an . Iam not wanting to go cheapest but iam on a budget and would like to stay under 100.00 less any fittings .

Can i get some advice on what i need please .

Thanks

100 micron should be used before mechanical pumps and rotary vane style electric pumps. Gerotor style electric fuel pumps require a 40 micron prefilter because of the tighter clearances. Look here for more info:

This is what I'm using after the fuel pump.
It's a Russell (Edel) #650130
40 micron disc element, offered in -6, -8 and 3/8" NPT male outlets.
I'm using the -6 male.
