What is the difference in a cam for two barrel carbs or stock cast iron intakes and the usual race cam that looks the same on paper?

Dragn70,

You've actually got 3 things....
2 bbl or 4 bbl?
Cast iron intake or aluminum?
Cast iron exhausts or headers?
A 2bbl with aluminum intake and headers runs a cam almost identical to a 4 bbl similar engine, only perhaps a little shorter in duration. Durations at .050 run 247-255 on intake, about 8° bigger on exhausts, 106 LSAs.
Put a cast iron intake on it, and subtract 4° all around, and maybe a 108 LSA.
Put cast iron exhausts on it as well, and you're down to 239-243 on intake, 243-247 MAX on exhaust, definitely 108 LSA.
Use a 350-cfm 2 bbl and cast iron intake/exhaust, and the killer cam is my 401A2LUN, 272/272 at .020, 238/238 at .050, .485/.485 gross valve lift, and 110 LSA.......
The 401B3LUN, 283/283 at .020, 255/255 at .050, .550/.550 gross valve lift, and 108 LSA finished 2nd overall in the last Winston National Amatuer Championship, in a 2-bbl engine, good heads, headers, etc. Light-weight car, too.
All this has worked for me.
