My sister needs to sell her car for money for college and she wants to know what she can get for it. It's a 67 Chevelle Malibu. It has a 283 engine out of a 65, an aftermarket ss hood with original chrome, 2 barrel carb, turbo 350 tranny, chevy rally rims, stock dash with ac ports, all black interior with stock steering wheel, stereo with a face off and remote, the stereo has auxilary jack for ipods/mp3 players, It's a daily driver, and newly reupholstered front seat.

Body looks relatively solid although when a car is primered it sometimes is a sign that the car was just all mudded up. The driver rear quarter has something going on. All in all looks to be in "fair to good" condition. Depending on what the body is really like and what the underside is like (I think I see the floor without a carpet). More pictures showing a cars strengths would help. Strengths would be solid floors, solid trunk, solid body (if thats what's under the primer). The bumpers and stainlesss looks to be beat up. What rear end is in the car? The 67's are my favorite but without more info I'd say $2-4K.

I will try to get more pics later of the trunk, engine bay, etc... and It was six years ago but i think i remember me and my dad primering it because the paint was like four or five different colors and it was a present for my sister. Thanks for replying so fast.

Id start high and work my way down, Have you priced a chevelle lately? I think the 67s are about as popular as the 70 chevelles. I dont think ive seen a running 67 chevelle for less than 5K lately. Sure it needs paint and all, but being a daily driver, that means it someone could fix it up while driving it. Being in california, prices might be a little higher than other parts of the country. Sure wished I could find a 67 myself. Jim

I'm starting to feel the same way but cannot figure out why, nothing real special about the 67, unlike the '70 when it boasted the solid lifter 454. Last '67 I saw was priced at 4200 in primer and was a bondo bucket up and down the sides of the car, plus was missing part of the interior and had duct taped arm rests and wood panel door panels and plastic racing buckets. It had the 10 bolt and the 210 hp 327 backed by a B&M TH350. I met the guy later at a car show and I think he said he ended up getting $3500 for it.

Sorry Dawg but nothing special about a 67? Their style is plenty special enough, it doesn't have to be all about power.

I agree I'd start high on that 67 and let folks haggle some. Don't give it away. best of luck to your sis.

Yes you heard me correctly, nothing special. It's just your typical Malibu with a tiny engine. Even the 396's back then were IMO nothing to shake a stick at. But that's just my opinion.

You're entitled to your opinion. :) IMO there are a lot more things to these cars that make them special than just a big motor with lots of power.

its the styling of the car, Ive got a 70 chevelle SS clone in rattle can primer. But I perfer the 67 chevelles myself. Did you look at the whats a frame worth post. 5 chevelle frames for 3K ea, all sold at carlise? Seems these cars are getting up into the 1st gen camaro prices. If you have one, thats not a bad thing, if your looking for one, it kind of sucks. Jim

Sorry Dawg, Jeff is spot on, the 67 has always been regarded as probably one of the best looking Chevy's ever, not just a Chevelle, but any Chevy. I don't care if a 67 has a straight 6 in it, it will all day long bring more than a 71, and trust me I own both, and a 71 is my favorite body style, but a fact is a fact. You are missing the boat on the power issue, the 67's have the value not for power, but for the gorgeous style that everyone wants. If it was all about power, which it's not, then you would be right, 70's would win.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't have bondo on it

$5000-$10,000

Look on E-bay, a junkyard car will go for $5000, I just stopped biding on one at $4500 with no doors!

I know someone that paid $8000 for one from a junkyard! and he is paying someone to rebuild it for him.

If I couldn't get 5 for one that runs I would keep it.

I am aware a 71 does not bring as much as a 67, that's why I love my 71 because it's affordable, and it sort of resembles a 70.

67's are nice, I'd like to have one someday, but it's sort of like a 77 Trans AM....they're nice cars too, and I'd like to own one myself, but there's no way I'd pay thru the nose for one but some would.

So if it's your cup of tea go for it. Me personally I'm after something with some power, not just looks.

Some of you take this stuff too serious. ;)

I would rather have a 67 than a 70. You can have all the 71's! :D

I thought the question was how much was one really worth not how much do you like it.

And it sold for $32,500

Have to agree with your logic there. Those ole 396's back then didn't have nearly the power like in 71. And if you squint really hard a 71 looks identical to a 70.:clonk::clonk::clonk::clonk::clonk:

Sorry Tony. I would have her keep the car. If she's not driving it, get it out of that primer for her.
