I was wondering if anyone had experience with the msd 6al and the conversion for the clock to tach with this item.

I have had 1 tell me no it isnt compatible and another say yes it is. Ok anyone on here have one that works directly to the 6al?

The best thing to do is plug it in and try it. If it doesn't work correctly MSD sells a tach adapter.

This is the Shiftworks Clcok to Tach conversion kit (see http://www.shiftworks.com/tachs-ss.htm#1970mal ).

Call the guys over there and ask them about it. They have two kinds of controlling devices or "brains" depending on the ignition and they can send you the right one.

I put this in my 72 SS dash and it looks phenomenal! Once I got the right "brains" it worked just great.

I found Shiftworks to be extremely helpful.

Before getting this on eBay, check with some of our sponsors (like Ground Up) or with NPD. You may be able to get a discount on this item as a Team Chevelle member.

Check some of the posts about pulling the dash when you are going to do this. You can use All Thread rods to slide the dash off only part way. Replace your bulbs while you are in there. And be careful with the dash ground wires. That caused me a bunch of grief.

This is a great project. Good luck.
