Hi everyone, im a sophomore in high school, and we have to do a research paper. So i thought what better to do it on then a 1970 Chevelle, sience i own one and its my first car . Bought it for 3500 with a CD i had since i was little, then later bought a big block for it, and now me and my step father are in the process of painting it. But anyways i would really appreciate it if some of you could post random facts. Like the different options on the ls6, ls5, malibu, what happen on the assembly line, the different types of trannys, motors, interior options, build sheet hiding places, ect. Anything anyone would think would be helpfull. I know alot of it, but i just need proof that i asked people about it.

I need all this because we need to have a source from were we got all of our information from.

Thanks Nick

Hey Nick! Thanks for visiting us. I think you have made a good choice for the topic of your paper. Feel free to look through the many topics in our forums. You will find plenty of material to write about. Also vist the web site chevellestuff.com (http://www.chevellestuff.com) where you will find the Mother Lode of Chevelle information.
Enjoy your search and good luck on your paper!

Nick I hope spelling won't count against you on this paper! :) If so, you are doomed!

Great topic you have chosen. Great car you have too.

Hey you fixed some of your spelling - nice job! Got a few more to go though! Maybe polish up the grammar too.
Just like working on a car.....just when you think you're done there's more to do.
Here's a suggestion....find out which assembly plant built your car and add some facts about production numbers of that model year, then find out how much it originally cost when new and then do the conversion to today's dollars. Perhaps also mention the labor strike that occurred soon afterward. Some members here can give details. Write about how today - 38 years later- you can almost assemble an entire 1970 car with brand new replacement parts. Very few other consumer goods or durables have that distinction. Oh yeah - mention what the price of a gallon of gas and a six pack of beer was in 1970 - that will get your teacher's attention. Good luck!

when we did our papers in senior english we were told you have to write the paper for a "purpose". have your paper go somewheres.. the teacher talked about doing it on topics that were controversial. like you are trying to prove a point with actual facts.. if that makes sense at all. i did mine on the paranormal (ghosts n stuff like that). and thats a controversial subject because you can disagree that there is paranormal activity. but at the same time there is all kinds of facts and even more storys of that kind of stuff happening. thats just an example. i dont know how strict your teacher is about this kind of stuff, but mine always said. THIS IS NOT A REPORT!! and that sounds like what you are on to.. like i said i dont kno what your teach is like, everyone is diff and wants diff things.. but im thinking like it was a year ago when i was trying to think of a topic for a research paper.

I wrote a research paper on how I thought that social security is fine the way it is.
My teacher was a far, far left liberal. She was great though, I took class with her again. I think I learned a lot of great things from her.:D

MANY teachers don't like internet-sources; almost anybody can say anything and (as we know) it could be wrong. If their point is to make you get some cold, hard facts; so it would be good to get a couple of books as references.

You may still be able to use people here, but it's hard to prove to your teacher that this group of people know what they're talking about... you know and I know, but some people out in the WWW are full of nonsense and talk loudly! Check with her and ask what KIND of sources she wants...
