Hey guys, I was wondering what a completed frame is worth (Powder coated, new bushings, refinished arms and all new front end, 12 bolt rearend, F41 suspension package, all new brakes and lines, T10 4 speed trans, and 67 396 with 10,000 on rebuild, all new exhaust with flow masters, 15" corvette rims with new tires) The resason I'm asking I found a real 70 SS 396 car that was in the process of being restored ( been on hold for the last two years by owner) and I'm half way done with mine and the body on the SS is far better shape then my body. My body has rust issues and the SS body only need some minior body work (Has all original floors and panels). It has already been sand blasted and primered. My car would need extensive body work, floors, trunk pan, rear quarters. The SS cars comes with all the new and orginial parts to complete the car. It doesn't have the correct motor or trans or orginial rear end, but I would use my motor and parts to at least have a dated correct car, but not matching number car. Also my 70 chevelle is not an 70 SS car. I'm hoping I could sell the my frame with the running gear from the SS car to be able to finish the body on the SS. The SS is also an Shadowgray colored car that is the only reason Im considering it. I have only so much money to work with. Any help would be appreciated.

Your best bet would be to probably part out the rolling chassis to maximize your value. I have no idea what it might be worth as a package. A good place to start would be at 90% of what you spent. Being a big item it might be hard to sell long distance, but you never know. Good luck on the quest.
One last thing. A shift in direction at this point in your project may be a big $$ set back. HTH.

Bare frames were going for 3K in Fall Carlise. Someone had five and they all said, "sold."

Shadow, It's funny I was in the exact same vote you are in last year ....I got the other car , separated its frame/body and swapped all the new suspension, rear end goodies, disc brake set up, and kept both motors. Then I sold the powder coated frame with all the "old suspension parts" from the 2nd car for 1500.00 on e-bay. The guy got a complete chassis but only the frame was restored...it was however a disc brake car and f41 package.
The body had been blasted and was FULL of rust like yours so I cut my losses and listed it in another auction.......much to my surprise it brought 300.00 , the worst part is the guy was from new jersey and paid a trucking co. 1,000.00 to haul it !!!!!!!!! AND YES I CALLED HIM AND TOLD HIM TO BACK OUT IT WAS NOT WORTH IT, but he insisted it was in better condition than his and was worth it to him. :noway: good luck
