Well Guys,
I installed the dynamat on most of the interior and did the rear with Elemental Designs eDead V.1 Sound Deadening. (Pain in the a** hope its worth it)

Hopefully my cabin will be less noisy when I am running my 454-30 over (Under Construction)with the 3 inch exhaust.

remember I am just a novice, what do u think guys on the install?
Going to do the doors also.

Did my '70 in dynomat too, it keeps down some of the noise for sure.

Did you put that over the stock tar paper/roofing type material or just by itself. I'm about to do dynomat and cant decide whether to do just the dynomat or both. I have the stock sound proofing already.

I ripped out that factory Sound Deadner, wanted to see if there was any rust. I found some surface rust so I put down some Por 15 then I put down the dynamat. Hope this helps.

While my 59 was off the frame, I had the interior floor, and the entire bottom of the car SpeedLined (that truck bed spray).
Dynamat on top of that, and then a 1/2" pad of insulation. (overkill???)

This car is nearly dead quiet with the windows up.
I most likely will do the same to the 66

Looks good. My interior redo is set to kick off in full swing right after the holidays. Sound deadener is numero uno on the list.

i had all my carpet up and i bought some dynamat for the trans tunnel but i decided that i didnt mind noise and that it was 2 things i really dont like, heavy and expensive! Actaully with the windows up going down the highway i think my car is very quiet inside, i think all that stuff is overkill, but it sure does look nice.

oh and (mattkinel) i would definately remove the old stuff, its heavy too and it hides rust.

its by far the best stuff to use. you can really mold it nicely, yes amazon does sell it cheaper

I don't know what dynamat is made of (tar perhaps?) but personally i would get myself vinyl 1.lb per square foot or 2.lb and throw that in instead.Off the top of my head i believe it is more costly and am 99% sure that it will be a pain in the ass to mold as i am guessing a heat gun would have to be used for that thick hard stuff but i would bet it can do a better job of vibration and overall noise.

Back on topic...Stevens that looks great but i would advise that if you are serous about blocking out noise then cover every inch of the inside as total coverage means alot when concerning sound.
