Are there any other makers of custom insturment panels besides Covans. Its not that I dont like thier product, I was just wondering if there are any others to choose from? I'm looking to customize my 66 300. Its not all original, numbers matching so I have the freedom to do whatever I want.

Your 66 has a flat gauge panel, it's wouldn't be to hard to fab a piece of aluminum or carbon fiber to fit and start punching gauge holes in it for gauges and switches.

I've seen some cars where the guys have inset an aftermarket speedo and tach into the two bezel openings in the '69 dash and they looked pretty good. One of our Chevelles has the factory gauge package which you can get in reproduction. The tach is pretty small and hard to read, especially if you are drag racing. Our other Chevelle has the Stewart-Warner column mounted tach and trio gauges under the dash. I leave them there just for the '60s retro look. At least the column tach is up where it is useful.

Try Dakota Digital, they made a super dash for my 65 and I think they make them for 66 and 67. Dakota Digital .com
