Although tempted, I'll spare you all the rest of the lyrics to that Stones song!
I am Bob Ashton, the guy behind the newly revised Chevy Vettefest, among other things. Some of you may already know me, and I hope to cross paths with many more enthusiasts via this site.
I am a Show Manager for Championship Auto Shows, Inc. and I Manage some of the World of Wheels and AutoRama shows along with both of the Chevy Vettefest shows in Chicago.
I live and breath cars in and out of work. When I'm not putting together shows, I am usually out messing with one of my own cars, attending someone else's show or at one of the auctions. I also race a (cough-cough) Honda CRX in various Solo events, (you know, where you blast around a parking lot and run over cones!)
Although I don't currently own a Chevrolet product, I have had many over the years including seveal Camaro's, several Corvettes along with a variety of Mopars. I drove my 390 powered AMC Hornet/AMX on the Power Tour (yep...did the Long Haul thing!) and plan on doing it again in '08.
Sometime I may relate my "First time in a fast 4-speed car" which involves my Uncle, the year 1970 and his L78 4-speed 69 SS! whew....:hurray:
I was introduced to the site via Rick Nelson who is putting together a very special gathering of LS6 powered Chevy's for our Spring '08 Chevy Vettefest show.
Enough about me!
Bob Ashton
