bubba68ss Mar 6th, 05, 9:16 PM Very nice! Whats the color?
Rumblin70SS Mar 6th, 05, 9:29 PM bubba68ss,
I'm glad you like the car!! The color is Torch Red.......it was Viper Red before but this has a little more Red rather than Orange in it.
mc71454 Mar 6th, 05, 9:31 PM Looks Great !!!!
What rack and pinion are you using?
any weight comparisons versus stock setup??
thunderstruck507 Mar 6th, 05, 9:42 PM gonna be bad if you need to get the dash off from the looks of it lol
Rumblin70SS Mar 6th, 05, 9:47 PM Tom,
Thanks for the compliment! I appreciate it as I respect what you have done with your car!
The rack and pinion is from a place called Applied Racing Technology out of Clearwater FL.
As far as weight, no comparisons yet, but the guy that did the chassis work said he was expecting it to weigh 3500lbs with me in it. That includes full interior, stock glass, all steel except the hood, ect.......
Rumblin70SS Mar 6th, 05, 9:50 PM thunderstruck507,
Actually, it's not as bad as it looks....you can unscrew the pad and lift it to get to the bolts that hold the dash in and pull it out. I haven't tried it yet, but that was the theory at least!
Bob West Mar 6th, 05, 9:54 PM Beautiful car,,,what kind of power will be going in it?
Rumblin70SS Mar 6th, 05, 11:29 PM Rapid Robert,
Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it!! The car will be getting a 580 that made 850 hp and 800 ft lbs on the dyno. Hoping to go high 8's with a little spray once everything gets scienced out.
Thanks!
Motor Martyr Mar 7th, 05, 12:07 AM looks awsome tony!!
BADSS Mar 7th, 05, 12:52 AM Chevell Envy!!!
Great looking ride. Makes me wish I had the time/money to tear mine apart.
YenkoChevelle69 Mar 7th, 05, 1:59 AM That car really looks super. Good n straight!
Sweet!
any ETA on when you plan on getting it back together?
Nice Ride!
Question though, shouldn't the rack be in line with the tie rods? Wont the current angles cause tracking issues when you're turning....
Rumblin70SS Mar 7th, 05, 6:03 PM Brian,
I thought you would like the Chevelle! Won't be too long before you see it in person!!
BADSS,
I'm glad you like it..............this car has been 15 years in the making but I'm happy with how it's coming out!! No better time than the present to tear yours apart! Don't worry about the money as you'll find it somewhere!!
YenkoChevelle69,
Thank for the compliment!! The shop that did the car did a nice job straightening the body! You should have seen it before!!
FIG,
Hopefully it should be together in the next month or so.........even though it looks like a lot, it shouldn't be too bad as all the hard work is done!!
TJC,
Glad you like the car!! As for the rack, the shop that set it up does them pretty often and its that way on his own personal ride. Now I'm gonna have to go home and spin the wheel to make sure everything is cool!!
Thanks!

Rumblin70SS Mar 8th, 05, 9:06 PM Undee70ss,
Thanks for the compliments and I'm gonna try and stay away from the plastic!! All I have to do now is sell everything I own......lol
Thanks!
chev crazy Mar 9th, 05, 1:28 AM Looks great, beautiful paint, should turn lots of heads. The plastic is so easy to use, just don't go to your mailbox, and you'll be fine hahaha.
ssal396 Mar 9th, 05, 10:17 AM WOW, the car looks great.... What have you done to the suspension to make that monster hook up????
Scott
Rumblin70SS Mar 9th, 05, 9:04 PM chev crazy,
Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it! Hopefully this car will be done soon cause any more dollars and I will be using the plastic!
ssal396,
Thanks also for the compliments! As for the suspension, it uses TRZ chrome moly arms in the rear, which are mounted in the stock location, HAL coil overs and an Applied Racing Technolgy anti-rollbar. The shop that built the car said it will have no problem hooking up with the stock style suspension and 29.5x10.5 tire, even with 850 hp.
Considering his Camaro has stock leaf springs, HAL shocks in the stock locations and has cut a 1.26 on the rear wheels, I have to believe him.
Thanks!
