I am currently doing a frame off on my 67 SS, I am going to have to but some things, wiring harness's , heater hoses, front & back brake hoses, head liner and I'm sure the list will grow. There are a lot of vendors out there now, is there some better quality parts than others?. I am not necessarly looking for the least expensive, but the best value I guess. I also need to send the floor mounted clock in for service , any recomendations for this little job? I would rather use nos parts but that is probably out of the question.

I also need a quarter window molding for the drivers side, if anyone has a new or super nice one
thanks
Paul

Ground Up has some nice stuff for the parts that you might need. The quality is good with prices that are about the same as the others. Year One also has parts, but can be a bit pricey.

For the clock, ask the customer service group at Ground Up. They are Chevelle and Camaro nuts. They might know of someone that restores them to original.

Agree with Mike. Hinshaw's always seems to have a lot of things others don't and they're pretty knowledgable. The web site doesn't have much more than an address, phone and fax number on it but they'll send you a catalog. They do a lot of car shows too and they're packed with small parts always needed.

True Connections has a guy that restores clocks for them. I've sent two in for restoration and they have come back looking better then new.

Big Tony's Chevelle has my business ( www.chevellesrus.com (http://www.chevellesrus.com) ). Super nice guys that take the time to talk to you. He is a spin off of Ausleys and has the same or better prices and has more stuff. Guess I am lucky to have 3 Chevelle stores and 1 Impala store 20 minutes away.

My vote is for the guys who have supported this site for many years- Ground Up in CT. Good guys to work with, nothing but quality parts, fast shippers, better prices than most.
The one thing I'd also be interested in is how close to you is the vendor because of shipping costs. If you're on the East coast you wouldn't want to buy from the West coast unless they're the only one with your particular part. If you're just starting your restore, I'd also get as many catalogs as I can and check each one to know what's out there.

What RCR said. Ground Up is a sponsor of this site and has quality parts. Your kinda like walkin' in a O'Reilly parts store and askin' for the nearest Napa.

All you got to do is click on the box in the upper right corner of this page.

WHAT?????? Big Tony's a spin off of Ausleys. I think not. And more parts think again. He has NOTHING to do with Ausleys. PERIOD!!!

thanks for the info, I didn't realize Ground Up was associated with this site. I am In Pa. so I will try and stick to the east coast

I usually order with those closest to me but I do have catalogs from other distributors simply because of parts that the others do not offer.

I've noticed that Ground Up does carry a few items that others simply do not. One example was how impressed I was not only by the line of Z28 pulleys they carry, and not only by the clarity of how they listed the different applications, but especially by the quality of the pulleys themselves.

I'll definitely consider them in the future.

I thought I should also add another personal experience that OPG has a better selection of original style radiators, and from what I've read here they also offer better seat cushions...if I remember correctly.

It really depends on what you are in the market for.

OPGI, great selections, good products, and when available, they label the "Made in the USA" products. :)

National parts group (NPD) is the best of the best as far as I care, I've done business with most of the ones listed above. NPD will match any price apples to apples. I use to deal alot with opgi but there parts would take 2-3 weeks to get and they always had parts on back order.
Just remember most after market parts are made by the same company, your just dealing with the middle man.
