When I had an '84 full size C/K Jimmy it has more to do with the frame then the weight of the truck. The Blazer and Jimmy are based on the 1500, so depending on what type of trailer you are going to rent you will not be able to use your Blazer. It has nothing to do with if it can; it has to do with if something happens is the rental company libel. For example I had a ‘04 Dakota and when I tried to rent a car trailer they told I had to get something else, luckily I also had a '04 Ram and everything was ok. The kick was I knew the Dakota would have been more then able to tow the trailer, but they refused to hook it up until I had something that fit the requirement of stopping the trailer (Braking) just in case something happened. I told them I'm just going to haul an '69 Corronet 500 without a drivetrain and I would be fine they still refused.:(

The blazer is being towed , my tow vehicle is not the issue.;)

Due to the width of the front axle, you might have to put it on the trailer backwards, usually not a good idea if towing far, not enough tongue weight. Be careful.

A basic duel axle 8-10k gvw 16'+ car or equipment trailer would be plenty for what you want to do. Width you do want to check depending tires/wheels and front hubs.

their website is the only place that asked me what i was to carry the several times i rented. the shop didn't care they only wanted the money. i have my own trailer now.
14 ft dual axle 7000# capacity, $875 new from Lone Wolf Trailers plant, Falkville, AL. it will carry my 66 Elky or my 29 1/2 Pontiac easily.

Got it home today,
They were right , a little big for their trailer, had to pinch it in ...... even had to put it in 4 wheel when the rear tires started spinning as the fronts were squeazing in between the fenders and edge of ramps:o if it had any larger tires would have never got it on... a little heavy too ,wheeew!!
Needless to say it was a slow and easy ride back from Jersey, will post some pic's soon.
thanks guys
