TonyZ Dec 11th, 07, 12:53 AM I guess the question back at you is " Did you buy the car?" The auction is over. For that price I think it's an OK buy. Lots of work to do but can be nice.
rene126 Dec 11th, 07, 12:57 AM Thanks for the reply. I was waiting lol...So about how much do you think i will end up investing on the car...i dont want to make it a show car but make it look nice, I plan on making it my daily driver:hurray:
Dean Dec 11th, 07, 12:59 AM I would be very afraid of what's hiding under that "NEWER PAINT" myself.
jrfan8bud Dec 11th, 07, 1:12 AM Seems like a fair price for the car. Good luck and have fun with it!
66SSFan Dec 11th, 07, 1:19 AM Looks like a fair price for what these cars are going for in runing driving condition. Good luck with it and have fun. My '70 is not in the greatest shape, but its clean and I drive it everyday and enjoy every minute of it:thumbsup:
oldtimebaseballfan Dec 11th, 07, 11:32 AM Since the car is in PA. and you are in CA., it is going to cost you a fair amount to get it transported. Hopefully you have factored that in your budget and bidding.
If it runs without any major problems you will have done okay. But remember, if it has been in PA. for long, it is going to have rust issues.
Andy69 Dec 11th, 07, 2:07 PM it was worth it just for the shag carpet in the back window

shag carpet?? what do you mean?
TonyZ Dec 13th, 07, 11:09 AM shag carpet?? what do you mean?
Since the auction started it looks like some pictures were added. Two of them show a white or cream colored shag carpet covering the package tray.
D Stroud Dec 14th, 07, 10:46 AM For that price, you got a DEAL!
It wouldn't matter if every body panel on it needed rust repair....a runnin, drivable '70 for under 5K is almost unheard of these days.

I agree with Dwayne, A STEAL!
Bunz-T Dec 14th, 07, 3:22 PM It will take a minimum of $15K to get to nice, but it may be closer to $20K. As you will find it is hard to find a place to stop chunking $$$$$ at a project.
dpvoiceguy Dec 14th, 07, 5:11 PM I hope it all works out for you and you get what you're hoping for. I actually bought mine from a guy in Bristol, PA but it's not the same person.
East coast cars have rust issues WAAAYYY different than what you're used to out there! I'd say the 15-20K estimate is pretty accurate if you're going to dig deep into the restoration.
bb66chevelle Dec 14th, 07, 6:24 PM I think you got a good deal for the money ! I live in Philly PA and I sold a 69 Mustang Mach 1 to a guy in CA about 3 years ago . It only cost $600 for the fella to send an 18 wheeler to my shop to have the Mach loaded up and brought back to him . Of course it too the rig 3 weeks to get here , it waited untill it had 4 more cars to pick up .
But anyway , its a 70 Chevelle that runs and drives .... I think you got a good deal no matter whats lurking under that paint . Anything metal can easily be repaired .

Junkyard Dawg Dec 15th, 07, 5:11 AM I like the color, it goes well with the interior. If the body isn't full of mud then I'd say you got a fair deal.
