Ultradyne 288/296F10 advanced 4*

Performer RPM Intake
Holley 950HP
HEI with MSD 6AL and Blaster 2 coil
TH-350 B+M 2400

Mid/low 12's @ 110 MPH or so with reasonable traction,and cetainly the potential for quicker ET's with tuning,improved traction,etc.

Any more converter, and you'll need to put a cage in!

Good, thats what I was hoping to hear, I am looking to run in the high 11s after I get some tuning into it. Once I do that I will just play with it. I have no plans on putting a cage in the car, but someday I may want to put this motor in an other car and go racing.

I plan on updating the fuel system before I do much racing with it though, and I know for sure that traction is going to be a problem. I am very happy with how it is running... Thanks guys

Their is more as I haven;t really started tuning as I just got my car hooking consistantly.

One thing for sure those 26" tires are gonna be smokin. get 29s or 30s once you get a stall.

Good luck & have fun!

That combo will easily be mid to high 11s. graemlins/beers.gif With a 4.10 gear and 3500 converter it be 11.20 or so.

If you can hook...........you will see 11's. You have more cam ( is yours solid lifters?) / carb / compression than I, with a 3.70 gear and 30" tire I am knocking on the 11's with my combo. Sounds like a nice build to me.

Any bigblock with a good cam, intake, carb, headers and posi ought to run 12's, add stickies, gears and converter run deeeeeeeep 12's and high 11's.

Well I posted that a long time ago... nearly forgot about it.

As you see in my sig I ran it and went deep 12s as you guys were thinking, shoot I ran it right at a year ago this weekend if I remember right. Tires spinning off the line, tires spinning in 2nd and falling on its face (lean) on the top end. I still need to upgrade the fuel system, think I may order my parts tonight now that I'm thinking of it. I put a Hughes 3500 converter in it as well. A few other little tuning things, I think it feels better than it did a year ago but no telling. I'll run it again when I get things upgraded. Thanks guys

Great job Chris, my combo is really close to yours. Looking forward to mine going soon.
You mentioned you need to up grade your fuel system, what do you have now? and what are upgrading to?

I had a very similar combo in my Nova. Same Cam, carb etc. A different intake and had Edel Roval alum heads. (probably very equivelant to your 290's)
My Nova is 3500 with me in it and it went a best of 10.9@123. Very typical was 11.0@121.
Your car will like the looser converter. In fact, with a 10 B&M holeshot and 3.73 gears I went 11.03 at the same 121. Have since put in 4.10's and a real race 10". Barely made a difference.
A little tuning with the looser converter and I think you can go low 11's.
Mine made 560hp on the dyno BTW
Have Fun!

The fuel system is all stock tank to pump, I cant remember if its 5/16 or 3/8, but I'm thinking 3/8. pump is a newer cheap stock replacement, then from pump to carb is 6AN braded to a Summit fuel log. I have a new mechanical Carter pump (cant remember which one it is off hand) and plan on going 8AN braided from the tank, making a 1/2 pickup, and for right now keeping the 6AN and Summit rail after the pump.

It really liked the converter change. Night and day difference, it changed everything and made it a totaly different car to drive. That Nova flat hauls. I am some what looking for a 68 or so Nova to put this engine in. I have no plan on puting a cage in the Chevelle, so I want to find a Nova I can cage and have some more fun with. Thanks
