My son and I own a 72 chevelle that we bought this spring, it has a 460 big block with 13:1 compression.

We would like to redo the heads this winter because we know the spring pressures are all over the board. we checked them when we adjusted the valves.

Our problem is we have the cam card for the cam that we were told is in the motor but it has no valve spring information.

I went to the Cower web site and put in the part # E-0515 and it comes up invalid part #, the cam card also says it is a special grind it is a solid roller.

I am going to call them on Monday but does anyone know of this part#.

Cam specs are IN .683 lift advertised .293 duration / EX .661 lift and .308 duration rocker arm ratio 1.70 on both.

Any help would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Keith,
That number sounds like it is just a cam core number. Wait till MOnday and call Crower. Let them recommend the spring pressures to run on the cam, then find a spring that will work on your heads with the correct pressures.

That is the only # on the cam card.

I tried all day to get someone at Crower to answer the phone but had on luck.

I tried both phone numbers I found on their web site, must have been a holiday today .

Still looking for help but thanks for your input.

I'm going to try again tomorrow.

Keith,
Most of the major manufacturers were at the PRI show the last 4 or 5 days and it will probably take a few more days for them to get back to normal. Give them a few days then call them.
