Im in the process of freshening up the motor and it needs some new paint. im going to use bc/cc with epoxy as my starting point. right now its got duplicolor on that has had no issues with sticking whatsoever.

so my question... is it ok just to clean with some good oven cleaner to get the oil and grease off and then just epoxy, or should i use stripper to remove the paint and start over. there really is no way to get a wire wheel into all the nooks and crannies, so im unsure what to do.

i was going to get it dipped, but there is way too much work that could be done if i tear it completely apart (hone, new rings, bolts, rods resized, crank polished etc). all im doing is replacing the oil pump and bearings and slapping it back together. there will be a new motor in ~5 years.
