Hey guys this is my first post, however i have have been reading them for a while now. Anyway I am on my third chevelle, a 69 and was wondering if anybody can help me with this issue. I have a 350 w/edelbrock cam lifter and intake kit. It is probably making around 250-275 HP {i hope anyway.
]My question is this I am in the market for a new carb. I have narrowed it down to a Barry Grant Road Demon 725cfm or a HolleyAvenger 670cfm. I would really appreciate any feedback on both of these. thank you graemlins/hurray.gif

Your probably looking more towards a 650 Speed Demon, or a 625 Road Demon. What are the specs on the camshaft you're using?

My brother-in-law just put an Avenger on his 350 Elco. Not good. After playing with it for months, he put the 600 Holley back on and the car picked up just like that. There is something weird about these Avengers....
Seeing what I have seen just down the road from me, well, Barry Grant has my vote.

I have a 625 road demon jr. so I'll vote for it. my Dad has a 625 road demon on his 'vette but he keeps his foot in it about as bad as me. both are vacuum secondary. they look better and run like a champ imho

Be sure and listen to their recommendation as to Speed Demon or Road Demon based on cam specs. Close isn't good enough in this case. Put a Road Demon on my 350 with a 268 Comp cam and couldn't ask for better performance and driveability. Swallowed the air cleaner stud after about 1500 miles and had to completely rebuild. Went to the Lunati 010 grind with 230 duration at .050 and never could get the thing to act decent. Called Barry Grant tech line for assistance and was told that there wasn't much hope unless I stepped up to the Speed Demon. Ordered a 650 Speed Demon, bolted it on and have lived happily ever after.
