do i need to line bore my gen6 502 to use arp main studs? i have the pan off and i thought it would be some good insurance to do it now. any thoughts?

Line boring/honing is to get the main bearings in perfect alignment. You can only determine if it needs to be done by measuring.
Question is, do you really need to spend time and money on main studs? Bolts are fine in most applications.

My understanding. Its a roll of the dice.

The clamping force of the bolts can be diffrent than the studs.

IF the caps distort, as they very well may, you will have problems.

On a 4 bolt block spinning at say 6500 or less, I doubt you need to use studs. My current two bolt block runs to 6000 ( often) and it only has ARP main bolts.
