I have a set of 346236 peanut port heads on my 454 currently. I believe that they are around 120cc, per mortec. I am looking to do a new top end and cam, and found two sets of heads. Would 820 or 148 heads flow better then my peanut ports? Both would be ported and polished, with large valves installed. These heads also have smaller chambers then my 236's, so that would bump up my compression.
Thanks a lot,
Chris

I don`t know anything about the 148 heads but the 820 heads are good performers. The runner size is close to the 781/049 heads and the have the smaller open chamber for a little more performance. I have a set of 820`s that I might be using if I don`t g with a set of Brodix race rites. There are a few other members here who are running the 820 heads. Any non peanut port oval port head with make more power than the 236`s.
820's are the large oval port head with 113cc open chambers.

i run the 148 heads and with new ss valves 2.19/1.88 they cc'd out at 108 in the chambers even after a clean up of the casting........seem to be a good enough head to put my 468 in the ten's........with backyard porting done to them of course.......
