I've noticed on other 69s there's a vacuum canister (looks like a tin can) mounted to the factory air box right above the right valve cover. I haven't seen any parts houses that sell them, but it appears as though mine is missing. My car is pretty original, but I don't have that part. Any help where I can get one? Thanks

only a/c cars have it. if you need stock looking used is your only hope, plastic replacements are still available from GM

My 70 LS-5 With A/C (one owner) has the tin can type. If you want a ORG. type Vac. can. Here is the answer. NEW or USED your call. It is perfect in every way. I have one on my Tlr. Queen 70.
Can you say " JEEP " . Jeep used this tin can the same as G.M.
on some of the late model Cherokee,s. I bought a new one at the Mopar dealership. Check out a junk yard, They are always in good condition. They are mounted on the inner fender. Hard to see. They sit between the inner fender and the fender. OUT of the weather. Not sure of the year.
A Jeep parts man may be able to help you out.

I saw one of the plastic ones on a Chevelle at a show last weekend. I honestly thought it was just some aftermarket piece they added, but if it's GM, I'd consider it. Do you know what the reason was for the difference in canisters?
