the front bench would be the same style from 68-72 gm a-body cars (elco,montecarlo,skyklark,tempest/gto,cutlass)
rear bench from 68or69 only, seats from 70-72 are few inches shorter

You can use the 70-72 rear seat, BUT you will need to use the 70-72 side plastic for the upper half to make it look okay. I have a buddy with a 68 malibu that has the 70-72 shorter seat in his car. Swears it is original (covered in the correct puke green color and pattern) It was in the the car when he bought it in the late 70's early 80's. I suspect it might be possible as it could have been the rear seat for a ragtop (As I recall these are shorter too). Be sure to get the front bench out of a 2 door car. The 4 door ones don't flip forward.

Thanks for the replies. I found the top part of the rear seat-gonna see what it would cost to re do the front bench.

Well I found some 71 chevelle bench seats. When you guys say the seats will fit my 68-are the holes in the floor the same? or do I have to redrill? Also does anyone have a picture of how the 71 rear seat looks in the 68? Thanks!

the front seat will bolt up to the existing holes.
the rear seat will be a couple inches shorter on each end.
rear will not completely cover the area between the edge of seat and door panel. you could use the arm rest and trim from a 70-72 chevelle to cover or use some carpet or leave open......

on my 68 el camino, the original bench didnt have headrests. After my bucket seat fiasco, I ended up getting a bench out of a 72 chevelle. Its a direct bolt in, and I got headrest with the 72 seat. cost me $150 to have it reupholstered. But my supervisor at the moonlighting job owns a upholstery shop. jim
