Had a set of new 17"x15"x33" slicks last year. Hooked great on street. (streetracing) Dead hook.

To be sure to win this year a dicthed them (from september) and bought a new set.

I hade severe traction problems. Same tire, size etc. Tire spin all way to goal. Terrible 60:ies on street.

So i loaned back my old Slicks. Wow, Dead hook again.

Can a new tire have issues in rubber? Anyone with teories?

Are both sets of the same compound? I am thinking that you have a handle on pressure, so I won't go there. I have not used M/T slicks, so don't know, but those aren't directional slicks are they?

Other than that, I have no idea.

Their website says they ARE directional and 'other' compounds are available. But if all the numbers match and they are mounted correctly, they should be good for 30 - 40 passes.

They sent me a set of new slicks for free. Getting them this Thursday. After that im hoping too hook again. Will report in ,)
