Most people don't know who Art is.... Too bad. Speed hero he was!

I was fortunate enought to have several great conversations with Art in the past. He was truly a special person and all around great guy! Godspeed Art Arfons!

I live south of him in Canton. A few years back while driving around Akron, what look to be the Green Monster was parked along the shop. It looked like the outline of the Green Monster covered up with a tarp.

Geez, this is bad. Two real heroes in a short time. I hope the "always happens in threes" doesn't kick in here. :(

Back in the day, it was fun to see whether Craig Breedlove or Art was going to have the LSR for very long. Sure were some great "battles". Mechanical geniuses, to say the least!

RIP art-back in the 60's, we used to travel to aquasco speedway in MD just to watch the green monster run, he would fire it up, bring it up th thrust, and when the headlight fliped on, he would cut it lose

I have a picture somewhere that I took in the late 50s in Okla City. I'll see if I can find it, scan it, and post it.
