I have a 69 Elky. I know it is not designed for the best traction. I have a 540 592HP 634 tq at the rear wheels. TH400 and 2700 stall with 12 bolt posi 373's. With TA's they break loose easily at up to 45 mph. I want to go to the track and obviously and would like some opinions on where to put the $ for tracktion. Slicks -- control arms etc. Where do you think my money would be best spent?
Thanks in advance.

Mine is 52% front and 48% rear. I have about 200 RWHP less than you and nowhere as much torque. I'm getting 1.60's 60 foot times. You can look at my setup, linked in my sig, for details, if you like. With that much power, you'll probably need much more chassis than I have. And "No-Hops" do hit the bed.

On the rear of my BBC El Camino I run the Hotchkis uppers, lowers and frame braces. The kit cured the wheel hop.... for the most part.
Just make sure you buy the adjustable uppers for maximum tuning ability as far as pinion angle, thats the biggie.
