At what point would you need a heavy duty rearend cover with the bearing cap support studs? Is the Summit cover a good one? are there better? TIA

Bob,I have the T/A cover on my car,and seems to work well(looks cool too :D )I would run the supports no mater what.Stress and flex is not a good thing back there.Alittle insurance goes a long way IMHO. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Bob,

I have the summit cover..same thing as the TA. What the heck right, as onebadda66 said every little bit of extra strength helps.

I'm running the LPW cover with provisions for axle tube braces. Probably a little overkill for my old combo, but with plans for BIG power upgrades I figured it was the way to go.

I run the Moser cover...just for insurance.
I've tried to "bulletproof" my 12 bolt and the caps are now probably the weakest link.

Rersonally, I feel that unless you're after the "cool" factor, you'd be better off spending your money for billet cap on the left side of the carrier. Then, you won't need to band-aid the carrier with a cover.
My car runs 1.24 60' times with a 12-bolt, spool, and Moser gun drilled axles. I've never had a problem with just using a billet cap on the left side even behind a BB with a stickshift.
