The best run I have had is...

60 1.8
1/8 8.128 @ 85.1 MPH
1/4 12.757 @ 105.65 MPH

This is a 80/20 street strip car.I just bought a pair of 781 heads off EBAY.They have been rebuilt with new stock sized valves and old springs. My plan is to install the heads with thin gaskets, new springs, new cam and lifters,a different carb, and new slicks.I need advise on all these items. What parts will help me reach my 12.0 E.T. goal and still keep the best possible street manners.

Your current ET with peanut port heads is sweet.
Those 781's will truly help out.
The 2.19/1.88 valves would really wake things up.

I think for a cam,the Lunati bracket master would work great.
Specs are 231/239 @ .050
.549/.558 lift
110 LSA
Its a flat tappet hydraulic,about $150 w/lifters
With 3.73 gears and a sixty foot somewhere in the one seventies, low 12's/high 11's should be reasonably obtainable.
Maybe grab a 3310 or 750 double pumper too, just to try out.

Phil, Thanks for flying the flag for the few of us peanut port supporters! graemlins/hurray.gif Very respectable E.T.'s there! Ya' gotta love the underdog. :D Seems your current combo with peanut port heads runs similar times to another of my favorite combos I've seen on here that's nearly identical to yours but runs the big ovals.

What's your current comression ratio?

Rod,
Using Pat Kelleys' compression ratio calculator and plugging in some estimates for unknown values I calculate my compression ratio to be approximately 9.3:1.
