I am curious about this also. It seems like over the years I have dealt with a bunch of idiots who never get things done when they promise them to you. Very frustrating. Anyone reliable and reasonably priced in the Detroit area?

Ralph,
I know a few guys who've had lots of good work done at Thomson Automotive. He is a Chevelle owner with a sweet 72 SS with a 502. He is on Telegraph Rd. in redford, Mi. His number is 313 538-0044. If you don't mind a little drive, last spring I had a 355 built up for my 68 Camaro by Performance Machining on Old US 23. They did a great job and I'm very happy with the motor. Their number is 734 888-1156.

Good Luck,
Mike

Well depending on how far you want to go I had my 406 done by Automotive Machine (586) 296-6501 very impressive work, and shop. The motor performs beautiful and runs great, it is a mild 530hp motor. Would reccomend them in a second pleasure to deal with and I have actually taken quite a bit of more work to them since.

I am over in Windsor so a drive doesn't concern me, do any of these guys have web sites and if you could pass along combo/price info that would be great! Ralph

Thomson Automotive has a good reputation. Moldex Crankshaft isn't too far from there either. I doubt either place has a website.

Kinetic Racing Engines in Westland does all of my work, never had a problem with them. Call Chris Gesek at 734-595-7593 and tell him that I sent you. They use Moldex for all of their crank work. They just did all the machine work on a 454 block that belongs to a friend of mine, everything looks great. They can dyno your engine as well as assemble it.
