Not sure if this poll has been done before, but want to see what everybody is running in their Chevelles. I know the generally idea, is bigger is better but want to see who has what... If you have more than one, pick the one that is running or close to running. I have 2 but neither runs but one 230 is still in the car and it will be running shortly.

Original 307 with about 100k on the odometer. You would thing that an old 307 wouldn't be too much fun to drive, but it's much quicker at the redlights than most modern cars, and smooth and quiet on top of that. It's a very nice engine, but there's a 350 in the engine stand right now so if Santa just brings that stroker kit... :)

396 ( well, a 402 ). CE block, original heads and intake.

When it's done it will have a 770 Street Avenger, Wieand Stealth, headers, roller cam ( likely a nce Voodoo ), upgraded distributor, etc. I'm not sure if it will get bored or stroked ( maybe both ). That'll be decided when it comes apart.

383 using a '70 4-bolt block... 15K+ miles on original build. Built it back in the mid-80's when people still went "Huh?? You're gonna do what? A 383 is a Chrysler motor."

I probably have the smallest V8 in a 2nd gen Elco of anyone on this board. 4.3 litre, running through a 3 speed Saginaw, with overdrive. The nice thing about it is great mileage.

4.350 X 4.250 tall deck 427 block netting 505cid in my 1970 chevelle

P.S. When I do replace the 505 I will go bigger. minimum of 540cid, max of 632. Would consider small displacement 499 big bore short stroke twin turbo mill also. Its only money and dreams.

Non original 396 in my 66SS. Engine is coded for a 396 out of a 66 Impala. I put some performance goodies on it so far, Comp cam, Weiand Stealth, 3310 Holley. The headers were already on it when I got it (1993).

Same here I bought the car with plans of dropping in a 454 but after driving this thing over the summer the 307 is staying. I just have to buy another to put the 454 in:D. My truck has a 454 in it too

WOW! Multiple engines?? I have engine envy. Mine has a mild 383 that's plenty fast for turning corners. Now if I could only afford a nice 6 speed to put behind it.
