Decided on going with 4.11 gears instead of the 3.73's. This question is for the guys running on the strip with drag slicks. What size slicks are you running and how much trouble do you have hooking up? I will be running a 28"x10.5 slick, and a TH-400 with a 10 inch 3200 stall converter. Thanks! smile.gif

What exactly do you have for suspension setup? My first drag passes with my 496 are coming up soon, I have 4.11 gears and 28 x 11.50 E.T. Streets (~9.5" actual tread width).

I'm very happy with the way my car hooks up, but the suspension has some mods. The whole car is lowered, 5" rear 2" front. No front sway bar, 1" rear sway bar mounted solid. Hotchkiss rear lower arms, Morrison-Gazon adjustable uppers on no-hop bars. Rear frame braces. KYB gas rear shocks, Koni adjustables in front. Upon launch my whole car, front and rear, lifts up and plants the tires.

Previously with a tired engine (368 rwhp) and ~ 4,200 stall it 60'd in the upper 1.6x's. The TH400 didn't survive the first chassis dyno pulls with the 496, so in its place I am installing a billet 200 4R with ~ 3,200 stall converter. Although stall is down 1,000 rpm, the trans has a quicker 2.74 first gear vs the 2.48 in the TH400. Besides...on the engine dyno this engine was right at 500 torque @ 3,000 rpm - I'm thinking the 60' times will still be quicker. If I get everything done this weekend I'll try to schedule a chassis dyno pull this week, I'm looking for ~ 500 rwhp (with the wounded TH400 it still laid down 476 rwhp) - then its off to the strip the following weekend.

Wish me luck. Bottom line is that I think that you'll be okay with the 4.11s provided the suspension is setup to plant the tires.
