i'm thinking about replacing a mild/unknown cam, in my chevelle i bought this summer.and i recently have gotten feedback on this site as to what type of cam i should use.I saw a mad dog kit which had the cam specs. im looking for,but was wondering if the clevite cams were known to be a decent/well manufactured cam or is it a low quality cam? any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
thanks. sasquatch58

I'm pretty sure they are the same genaric cams that many others sell including Edelbrock, Summit, and Melling. My Melling 204/214 @ .050 is still running strong in my driver after 8 years and about 130,000 miles.

Like Pat says, they are generic, mass-produced private label cams. The quality is good and they are usually priced very resonably.

I have Clevite's list saved for both SB's and BB's if you are interested in them?
Solids and hy-cams too...
As well as Elgins and TRW's..
