Theres an oil dowel that goes between the head and the block on my engine that the head bolts go through, actually theres 4, 2 on each side, of those metal sleaves and I lost one what can I do to replace it or what ever? This is the second one my workshop ate, I lost the one of the same things that went on my motorcycle head but a new redesigned head gasket eliminated it.

Danny,
Your machine shop should have them. I keep them in boxes of 100 for when we deck blocks. All it does it keep the head gasket and the head aligned while you install the head so really, any piece of small tubing etc will work as long as the bolt will go through it and it is not too tall. By the way, it has nothing to do with oil, at least not on a Chevy V-8
