So I've been working on converting my 72 to a 4-speed.Got the conversion
kit from ground up, everything fit good...lakewood bell fit good everything seemed to be on track until..I went to install the driveshaft..looked like it was
3 inches to long. Car had a th-350 in it...and I put in a 71-74 muncie m-20 and I thought the driveshaft length would not be an issue cuz the 71-74 and the th-350 were the same length..I dunno whats up, 3 inches seems like alot am I right?? this a common problem?? any guesses on what it cost to have a driveshaft shortend?? any advice or help would be great.I had to of messed up somewhere.

No, you didnt mess up. The manual will require a shorter drive shaft. With your power, may want to just upgrade to a new one. They are about $200-300 I think.

I also thought the driveshaft was interchangeable on this swap. I believe there is a "normal" and long tail shaft turbo 350, but not positive. Hopefully some one will chime in.
