how bad are the Cadillac calipers for conversions ? I 've read a few threads about conversions and the consensus seems to be they suck, if they're that bad, what are the alternatives ? Thanx

I don't think they really suck per se.

It is just that they can be a ROYAL PITA to get adjusted. (til you actually figure out how it is done-then a piece of cake)

Also if they are mounted like mine are on the 59----they have to be removed from the bracket to position the bleeder correctly to properly bleed.

Also have to be a regular parking brake user to keep them in adjustment (I am NOT)

Maybe they get this reputation cause they have different quirks than other types of calipers.

Some calipers that can be used in place of the Caddys will not have an E-Brake feature.
Not really acceptable from a safety inspection viewpoint. (or from any viewpoint for that matter)
