: Coolant leaking from rear of engine

Found a leak this past weekend on my 283. It looked like it was coming from the rear of the block dripping on my starter but I could not find the source. Thinking it may be the intake but not sure. Any suggestions? Could it be the freeze plugs? Or heads?
Thanks,

On a 305 v-8 I had a similiar problem. It turned out to be the intake manifold gasket, made of metal, rotted out and leaked. This after 15 years...

Good Luck,

I don't know who makes it, but I think on an
episode of "shade tree" they put a die in the coolant that showed-up under a black light, that may help you tace your leak.

Check the freeze plugs on the right side, especially the one under the motor mount. My 327 leaked there...
