I just put in a bid for a black Proform timing cover off of Ebay. I thought it would be an inexpensive way to keep track of things as I can't afford an etched balancer.

It says that it requires a 2 o'clock timing tab. I think that's what I already have. What other timing tabs are there? Which tabs do you guys use? I have a cheap chrome parts store unit, but truthfully, I hate chrome.

Anyone use one of those Summit, Tavia, B&B, etc. adjustable timing pointers? Are they any good?

Thanks!

some sbc had the timing marks at 12:00. I use one of those tavia style pointers...I love it. Make sure you get the right diameter balancer cover.

I ran into an issue with the Proform cover. The WP pulley rubbed on it. Solved it by spacing out the pulley. Moroso and Mr. Gasket make them. Only need about a 1/16" or so.
