Hi I just took the 12 bolt out of my chevelle and was wondering if anyone could give me info on it.The numbers on the tubes are 67890 and L198.I took this out of my 69 supposed ss.thanks

The first is a foundry number. should be 12345 over and 67890 under.
L198 is the casting date = Dec. 19, 1968
Look on the Axle tube for a number like this. CG1025B. That will ID your gear ratio.

69 axle codes were 2 letters.
Before you say it might not be a 69 -GM axle codes were 2 or 3 letters.
Example: CG1025B decodes to CG ~ 3.36 Positraction, 1025 ~ Month [Oct] and Day [25], B ~ Buffalo (G=Chevrolet Gear & Axle, W=Warren, K=McKinnon Industries)

Hi and thanks.The only other things I can see on the rear is the numbers
12345 above the 67890 number and convi below the 67890 number.

ON the other side it has what looks like the number 58 above the L198 number.
