Gents,

This is not a Chevelle problem, but it is an A-body car problem. My Dad has a 1968 Pontiac LeMans that he has owned since 1970. LeMans (http://www.austintx.net/echristie/Chevelle/Dads_Cars.htm)

The problem is with the front suspension. The entire suspension has been rebuilt with all new bushings, springs, tires, ball joints, & shocks, etc. However, the driver’s side front sits about ¾” lower than the rest of the car. It has been like that for years and it makes no sense. In addition, the height problem existed before and after the rebuild.

Anyone have any ideas what might be causing that?

Front & rear suspension are stock, stock ride height, stock sized tires.
Thanks,
E.

Check for "frame sag". If the frame rail has twisted on the drivers side, That will change the height of the upper spring perch.
Set the car on four jack stands on level ground. Make sure that all four corners are the same height off the ground. Now measure from the ground to the outer lip of the spring perch On each side. Also measure the rear perches.

Snip...

Scott,

What causes "frame sag"? Is it correctable?
