Can anyone tell me what rpm my car (427BBC 66 Chevelle) would go thru the traps with 4.10 gears and 28" tires ... 4th gear 1.1

Thanks, Bill

I think you'ld probably hit the rev limiter if you have one at about 1000 ft.
Seriously with perfect traction ( slicks ) and a projected 575 hp, 6500 rpm???? 11.2 @ 121mph

Sorry, I used the wrong weight. Assuming 3800 lbs with driver, 570 hp, perfect traction;

10.8 @ 124 mph 6600 rpm.

Ok so what you are saying is with 4.10 gears / 28" tires my combo would go thru the finish line at about 6500rpm ..... which is what I think is about right for my motor .....Going to change out the 3.73's( going to OD 5spd.) want to ensure I pick correct gear

BTW your assumptions are correct for weight and HP , love those " perfect" conditions numbers .I'll be happy with high 11's

If you get your chassis sorted out, I think you'll be surprised at how quick it is. High 11's for sure.

Hang on a sec... which 5-speed are you going to use?? Do you have the gear splits?? You might want to go the other way with your final drive.

3.55's would be best 10.86 @ 124
3.73's are fine 10.87 @ 125
4.10's would drop you into 5th before the traps. Not good. 10.92 @ 123

With your cam I'm not sure you could cruise in 5th with the 3.55's without the motor stumbling.

You would have to be pretty skilled with the shifter to run with the 4.10's IMO. First would be just about unuseable.
