Well I'm finally putting my motor back together after my horific blown motor. Any ways, I'm using a '95 gen V block, Brodix BB-2 Plus heads, a Dart single plane intake. I have the heads installed and set my intake on to see what my combo would look like, thats when I noticed like 1/8" gap between the bottom of the intake and the top of the block. The bolt holes line up fine between the intake and the heads. Is this normal, is this going to be a problem? Thanks for the info guys graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Shouldn't be an issue. Make sure the ports line up. If they do, lay a 3/8" bead of silicon and bolt on that bolt on.

Yup, that's what it's supposed to do. The gasket set has a thick rubber strip that goes there. As Pat said, use a bead of silicone instead; use the "ultra" kind, smear a thin smear on both parts, lay a bead on top of the front and rear making sure it's exactly where the intake is going to sit, wait about 10 minutes or so for it to just barely start thickening up, and set the intake STRAIGHT DOWN onto it with no sliding back and forth. Let it sit another 10 minutes or so, then tighten all the bolts. Wait a couple of hours, preferably overnight, before cranking it up, if possible; to give it time to set up before it gets dosed with oil.

Thanks for the advice. I just wanted to make sure. I guess I never realy paid that close attention to this before:clonk:. It will probably be a couple of days till I get to the point of firing it up. I can't wait. I'll try and post a few pics of my little motor. Thanks again for the advice.
