After converting my BBBuick 4spd to front discs before Labor Day it has been
stopping AOK.I had power drums before with a lowered brake pedal as is
the case with most power assist cars.I went thru the usual bleeding
process and the brakes are the same as they were 2 months ago but the
pedal is "soft" and it's total travel is about 3-4"(it never bottoms out).If I am on a grade and take my foot
off the brake it only takes about 1" of travel to stop if moving slowly so it would seem the brakes are grabbing pretty much immediately. As a test I
unhooked the power assist to see how far the pedal would travel and it is
a much shorter distance but takes a TON of effort! I just wonder if any other
big block cars and power discs do the same thing. Thanks Pete

Soft pedal is air in the lines. low pedal is rear drum adjustment, as you have four wheel disc brakes, you have air in the lines.
