i really want to do something different/remerable in my 70 chevelle. i really want to do a custom console. i've been doing some research and the best sight i have found is http://www.classictruckconsoles.com/ . they seem like they would fit pretty well and is a good base to go off of. am i going to have alot of trouble installing it? any other custom consoles? and helpful info or pictures would be great.
thanks

I recently bought a 70 chevelle that had a 1970 impala ss console in it. I new it was not correct but bought the car anyway. It did not look bad i wanted the stock look. I have the console & shifter. the shifter sat closer to the front and the console went from between the buckets to about two inches from the fire wall. thew had installed a water temp and oil Gage on the end. It looked kinda cool I just wanted the stock look. Sorry I have no pics of it in the car. Good luck! I ma trying to figure out how to install the console door On the replacement I bought.

IMO People will remember your car MORE if it is restored to "original" specs.

i agree with both of your posts, its just that i really want something different. all i have seen is stock consoles and a few aftermarket seats in chevelles. i'm not saying thats the only thing out there, just want something truly different.just was wondering if anybody had done this before.

If you do a search, I think theres some posts of people using 4th gen camaro consoles. jim

do you have pictures?
Here's a couple. I used the "Graphite" color and it matches really nice with the black interior. The flash makes it look lighter in the pics. The thing I like about the Blazer console is that it has no e-brake in it to deal with like most other newer consoles. (4th gen Camaro for example)
Arm rest works nice & also has cupholders. I have it hooked up like a new car so you need to press the brake to shift it out of park. Not for everyone but it works really well for me.
