I am rebuilding a '69 396 engine and need a crank.
The block is 60 over with TRW 10.25 pistons. The rods are Eagle H series. I've looked at Eagle and Scat cranks but they are $700+ and I'm not sure they are worth it. Is there a good affordable crank and were can I get one.
Thanks for your help.

Chevrolet cast crank will take plenty of abuse.

Callies Dragonslayer - $800 and 1968 is correct about GM cranks

Unless you are planning on totally thrashing on it at super high RPMs, large amounts of nitrous, or some type of forced induction, a GM cast or forged crank would be just fine.

In a non-power adder engine just about the only thing a cast big block crank doesn't like is rpms. Keep it below 6,000 rpm and you should be fine for a long time.
