I put my rear suspension together last week, and now I'm second guessing if I installed my new Eibach coils the right way - tighter coils at the top? Any ideas? I'd call Eibach but its the holiday....

That is the way I've always done it. I don't think the spring cares but it looks better with the coils at the top.

Doesn't matter. The spring compresses at the same rate no matter how it's mounted.

If in doubt, install one face up, one down. You'll never know the difference. ;)

That makes a lot sense. I unfortunately cheated my way through high school physics classes..... (looking at and off the girl next to me) Thanks for the quick responses. :)

I just bought new springs for my rear end and the directions said tight coils to the top.

I just bought new springs for my rear end and the directions said tight coils to the top. That is likely just so that the springs still look "stock" when looking under the car. Original springs did not have the "tight" coils, so mounting them opposite would be obvious that they are not original.

Thanks again! I mistook my directions for rolling papers. :)

I bought a set of these springs for mine. I think the directions state that they are to be installed with the Eibach marking facing so it can be read. This is correct for both front and rear.

I just verified this on their website under FAQ. It states "The springs have to be installed that side up that you can read the printing". Hope this helps.

Its called free advertising!! They want anyone that looks at your springs to be able to read there name.
