I just bought the mentioned rearend kit and want to install it without pulling the rear end which Hotchkis say is possible. I would like to hear from anyone who has done it that way and possible problems they may have encountered. This young 70 yearold needs all the help or hints that he can get to make this job easier. From looking at the parts contained in the kit all should be able to be installed with the rear in the car. The hardest part will be the bushings on the housing. Using a ball joint remover type tool should make it a lot easier. If you have already installed poly bushings in the housing and they are in good shape you may not need to change them, just bolt on the other parts. I have a similar set up in the El Camino with a sway bar and it handles great.
