I have a '67 concours wagon with factory air that is not working. I am wondering if I should look at having it fixed or just buy an after market?

I would have it checked out, if its a major repair then up grade the system. Yours might still be R12 and while they do have a replacement its not that great because it is a blended refrigerant. I would upgrade to R134 no matter which setup to go with.

I would fix it. I have Vintage Air on my 67. The cooling is great!!! The heat works good but fogs up the windows. The defrost works but hard to get the temp correct. The Vintage Air does not use fresh air from the outside for the heat & defrost and that is a large difference. You will be more satisfied with the original. Vintage Air is around $1200. JMHO for what its worth.

+1 on fixing the original system.

The AC system on your car is one of the best MVAC systems ever designed. Anything else on your car would be a "downgrade" as far as performance.
They can be converted to R134a with good results, but I would recommend staying with R12. The initial cost will be higher, but if the system is properly repaired you won't need to touch again it for many years. R-12 can be had for as little as $10\lb these days due to reduced demand.

Another vote for factory air. That 40 year old system is still better than the aftermarket.

My one owner has Fac. Air and my driver SS 454 Red Sta. Wgn. has Fac. Air. I drained all the 12 oil, Re oiled it with 134 oil and Charged it with 134. Works just fine and I drive it about 3-5000 miles a year. I drove to CB 07 this year.
My vote is do your best to repair the O.E.M. system. 134 is O.K. I went with 134 due to the fact I take long trips and if it goes down 134 is no problem getting. I have a lot of 12 in the garage But it is for my show car.
